Feel-good hormones & brain activity spike during volunteering
It can be a really rewarding & impactful experience
Volunteering is a great way to get involved, use existing skills or gain new ones & support a local Mental Health charity. At Mind in Mid Herts (MiMH’s) we offer rewarding volunteering opportunities to help create & build team connections & give back to the wider community. Alongside our staff, we have over 60 volunteers providing support & contributing to a wide range of projects.
By giving up as little as one or two hours a week you can help make a big difference to someone’s life, helping them rebuild their confidence & self-esteem & reducing social isolation.
If you have time on your hands, possess a positive attitude & enjoy listening to people, we could have the opportunity for you. We aim to make the volunteering experience a positive one. Your team can become part of our team, gain new skills, share existing ones and have fun.
We provide initial & ongoing training, & everyone is surrounded by supportive & knowledgeable colleagues with the same goal – ensuring that everyone gets the support & help they need for their mental health.
We are keen to foster the individual strengths & interests of volunteers. With the support of a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator, as well as the Team Lead, we will work with your team to ensure that their volunteering experience is meaningful & valuable.
I have only just started to volunteer…the warmth & friendliness of everyone I have encountered has made me feel welcome & supported
Volunteering is a great way to get involved – Let us know if you’d like to help!
