St John’s Church Donates £4,893 to Mind in Mid Herts for Vital Mental Health Services
In a gesture of community support, St John’s Church in Harpenden has donated £4,893 to Mind in Mid Herts.
The substantial donation comes at a crucial time, as the demand for mental health services continues to rise. Mind in Mid Herts, has a comprehensive range of support services, including counselling, outreach services, and training & development, and relies heavily on community fundraising to maintain and expand its services.
“As part of the Mission of St John’s Harpenden, we aim to Live Gods Love. This is why we keep back 10% of our income to help International, National and Local charities. This year the congregation has chosen Mind in Mid Herts to receive a donation.” Says Nick Luckett’s St John’s Outside giving committee.
Emma Fullerton-Frost, Fundraising and Communications Officer at Mind in Mid Herts, expressed her gratitude towards the congregation and the local community for their generosity. “We are deeply moved by the collective effort of those at St John’s Church. The money raised could pay for an outreach worker to work one morning a week for an entire year as well as the equivalent of 37 individual counselling sessions, allowing us to support those in our community regardless of whether they can get to our town centre’s offices. We rely on donations such as these to provide our services and are incredibly grateful to all at St John’s Church.”
Mind in Mid Herts has been there for many, offering support to those who may otherwise feel isolated or overwhelmed. Our work is particularly important in the current climate, where the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have exacerbated mental health issues for many individuals.
Community contributions like this one from St John’s Church are vital in ensuring that Mind in Mid Herts can continue to support local people with their mental health and wellbeing across mid Hertfordshire. This donation is a testament to the power of community and the positive impact that collective action can have on the lives of many.
